Welcome to the Akron-Canton Shambhala Center

 Important Notice: Change of Location

Starting Tuesday, March 17, we will be meditating at a new location: 430 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619) in New Franklin, just South of Akron. Meditation and group discussion times will be the same.

Directions from the North

Go South on Rt. 8. Continue on South I-77 and get off at the S. Arlington Rd. exit. Turn right (South) and go almost a mile and turn right (West) on East Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619). It’s just over two miles on your left.

Or go South through Akron on S. Main St. to W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619). Turn right (West) on 619. It’s just under a mile on your left.

From the South

Follow I-77 North to the Massillon Rd. exit. Turn Right and take Massillon Rd. (Rt. 241) North to East Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Rt. 619). Turn left (West) and continue as above.

Either way you will drive past Turkeyfoot Golf course and cross a bridge over Portage Lake just before you get there. It is in a small strip mall called Kruger Plaza and 430 is in the center between the Li’l Yoga Shop and Kruger Realty. There will not be any sign identifying it as Shambhala. Just walk in.

It is approximately 20 minutes from our present location. It will take longer in the evening.

Please do not park in front of the building. There is small lot to the East (on your left as you face the building).

Please join us at our new location. Also be sure to check our website if you come after next month. This location is temporary and we may be somewhere else in a few months.

The Akron-Canton Shambhala Meditation Center is a part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche and headed by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. We are part of a global community which aspires to awaken kindness, goodness and wisdom within society.

This vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness.

We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.

Our Center is located at 1707 Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls.  Plenty of free parking is available.

A group meets in Fremont (between Akron and Toledo) on Saturdays from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Please contact Marlene Ellis, 419-902-9918 or mellis@elo-law.com, for more information.
