Welcome to the Akron-Canton Shambhala Center
Due to the celebration of Midsummer Day, Sunday open meditation will be cancelled on June 26, 2016.
We are presently meeting at The Church in Silver Lake, 2951 Kent Road (Route 59), Silver Lake, between Cuyahoga Falls and Stow. See Our Location for directions and map.
The Akron-Canton Shambhala Meditation Center is a part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche and headed by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. We are part of a global community which aspires to awaken kindness, goodness and wisdom within society.
This vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness.
We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.
A group meets in Fremont (between Akron and Toledo) on Saturdays from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Please contact Marlene Ellis, 419-902-9918 or firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
