Social Event: August 30 Outing
We are pleased to announce the first in a series of social events for the Akron Shambhala community—an outing (picnic, games, boat rides!) at West Branch State Park on Sunday, August 30 from 2 pm to 6 pm. This is a pot-luck celebration: please bring something to share.
We are meeting at Picnic Area A and the boat ride will be at the marina (thanks to Dave). To get there follow these directions:
Take I-76 East from Akron
Take OH 14 (Exit 43) South toward Alliance
Turn left (East) on Tallmadge Rd. (Rt. 18)
Turn left (North) on Alliance Rd.
Continue on Cable Line Rd. and look for signs to Picnic Area A and the marina.
Or put the following into your map program or GPS:
West Branch Marina, 8109 Cable Line Rd., Ravenna, OH
The Akron-Canton Shambhala Meditation Center is a part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche and headed by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. We are part of a global community which aspires to awaken kindness, goodness and wisdom within society.
This vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness.
We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.
A group meets in Fremont (between Akron and Toledo) on Saturdays from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Please contact Marlene Ellis, 419-902-9918 or firstname.lastname@example.org, for more information.
