Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year which is one of the most important celebrations of Shambhala Buddhism. The date of the Tibetan New Year, Losar in Tibetan, is actually February 5 this year (the date varies each year according to the lunar calendar) but we are celebrating on the following Sunday. This year is the Earth Boar Year in the traditional Tibetan calendar. It is a time for us to enjoy and express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, elegance and pomp.

  9:30  Breakfast (provided by us)
10:00  Regular Sunday meditation
11:00  Community meeting (bring questions and suggestions)
12:00  Potluck lunch (bring a dish to share)
1:00  Lhasang (bring an object to bless)
1:30 - 2:30  Shambhala Sadhana (bring a mala if you have one)

We invite you to join us for any or all of the day! Please register so we can plan accordingly. A $10.00 donation is requested to cover program costs.
